Who’s the greatest bargain-hunter of them all? Who will walk away with the $10,000 grand prize in the ultimate shopping challenge of the year? Guess the winner correctly, and you may win yourself a prize too! So don’t miss the action on 24 May as we cheer the various teams on in the Great Singapore Shopping Challenge 2008!

Returning for the 5th year running as the launch event for the Great Singapore Sale, this year’s Challenge will comprise 2 categories – Singapore and International – in which teams of 2 will each be given $1,000 shopping money to go on a 3-hour shopping spree at 3 designated shopping malls and 1 ethnic precinct. 

On arrival at each mall, each team has to perform a compulsory task, incorporating a Uniquely Singapore experience, and pit their bargain-hunting skills against each other as they grab the best buys from selected product categories. The winning teams from the Singapore and International categories that complete the Challenge within 3 hours and with the most dollar savings will each walk away with the grand prize of $10,000!

The Challenge will kick off in front of Wisma Atria, Orchard Road, on Saturday, 24 May at 12 noon. While the local teams compete to become the shopping champion of Singapore, expect to catch teams from Australia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Middle East, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam, vie for the championship in the International category.

So follow the action and cheer your favourite team on. Or stay on after the flag off on Orchard Road for the fun and games, and then witness the crowning of the shopping champions of the Great Singapore Shopping Challenge 2008!
